MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411030669 A) filed by Shoolini University Of Biotechnology And Management Sciences, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, on April 17, 2024, for 'a ternary heterojunction photocatalyst for photodegradation of textile dye.'

Inventor(s) include Anita Sudhaik; Akshay Sharma; Shivangi Sharma; Sushma Devi; Pankaj Raizada; and Pardeep Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses synthesis a dual Z-scheme CdO-GCN-CaFe2O4 ternary heterojunction for enhanced visible-light-driven degradation of textile dye specially methylene blue. The photocatalyst exhibited a degradation efficiency of up to 94.67%. The incorporation of nanocellulose, CdO, GCN, and CaFe2O4 taken in the preparation of the photocatalyst are in a ratio of 1:2:1. This approach is known for its low cost, non-toxicity, recyclability and economic sustainability."
