MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202547097320 A) filed by Hitachi Energy Ltd., Zurich, on Oct. 9, for 'a tank shunt and a transformer provided with such a tank shunt.'
Inventor(s) include Bustreo, Gianluca; and Paolo, Nicolo.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A transformer including an active part (100), a transformer tank (214), and one or more tank shunts (105, 106a, 106b, 106c, 107a, 107b, 218, 300). The active part (100) includes a core (102, 202) and windings (104a, 104b, 104c) around the core (102, 202). The transformer tank (214) includes a tank wall (306), and the transformer tank (214) houses the active part (100) of the transformer. The one or more tank shunts (105, 106a, 106b, 106c, 107a, 107b, 218, 300) are configured to capture a leakage of a magnetic flux (B) from the windings (104a, 104b, 104c), in which the one or more tank shunts (105, 106a, 106b, 106c, 107a, 107b, 218, 300) are arranged between the windings (104a, 104b, 104c) and the tank wall (306). Each one of the one or more tank shunts (105, 106a, 106b, 106c, 107a, 107b, 218, 300) also includes a casing (112, 116, 301), in which the casing (112, 116, 301) of said one or more tank shunts (105, 106a, 106b, 106c, 107a, 107b, 218, 300) houses a magnetic fluid (302)."
The patent application was internationally filed on Apr. 12, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/059976.
