MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441039358 A) filed by Ashok Leyland Limited, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on May 20, 2024, for 'a tamper proof locking apparatus for securing a front finisher assembly to commercial vehicles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A tamper proof locking apparatus (A) for securing front finisher assembly (1) to commercial vehicle (V) according to present invention includes plurality of metal clips (2) concealed and assembled to the bulkhead (3) of vehicle at hidden side clip towers of the front finisher assembly (1); a fastening means (4) with front finisher assembly (1) fastened to the bulkhead (3) of vehicle; plurality of hinges (5) disposed at bottom of front finisher assembly (1) of vehicle (V); a threaded fastener (6) to securely assemble the front finisher assembly (1) to bulkhead (3) of vehicle (V); and a backplate (7) having locators (8) is fixed to front finisher assembly (1). The backplate (7) configured with a front finisher (9) is adapted with a snapping means configured to be snapped and locked onto a primary notch of front finisher assembly (1) rendering the threaded fastener (6) imperceptible and a secondary snap (10) is configured with backplate (7) rendering the tamper proof locking of front finisher assembly (1) to vehicle (V)."
