MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311087512 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Dec. 21, 2023, for 'a system for parking backup assist devices.'
Inventor(s) include Satyajit Borkar; Marius Leskovsek; and Sagar Gunthal.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system 100 for parking one or more backup assist devices 110 includes a main rail assembly 104; a transverse rail assembly 106; the transverse rail assembly 106 is in sliding engagement with the main rail assembly 104 for movement along a first direction and configured to slidingly carry one or more trollies 108 for movement along a second direction. The trollies 108 carrying one or more assist devices 102. An auxiliary transverse rail assembly 114 is configured for telescopic engagement with the transverse rail assembly such that after the telescopic engagement of any of the auxiliary transverse rail assemblies 114 with the transverse rail assembly enables transfer of any of the auxiliary trollies 116 to the transverse rail assembly 106 when a need arises."
