MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421037584 A) filed by Mahindra Electric Automobile Limited, Maharashtra, on May 13, 2024, for 'a system for opening a hood of a vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Singh Vishal; Dinesh Kumar; Unadkat Siddharth Bhupendra; and Iftikhar Alam.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The disclosure herein generally relates to a system for locking and un-locking a hood of a vehicle, and more particularly, to a system for opening a hood of a vehicle which is locked through two latches. The system (100) includes an actuator (102) provided inside the vehicle, which is adapted to be actuated to open the hood (20) of the vehicle (10); two connecting members (104, 106) connected to corresponding latches (40, 50) of the vehicle; and a coupling mechanism (200) configured to couple the actuator with the connecting members and adapted to simultaneously displace the two connecting members to unlock the corresponding latches when the actuator is actuated. The system has lesser components, prevents deformation of the hood, ease in assembly and maintenance, and allows user to open the hood with ease."
