MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621004645 A) filed by Dr. Vishwanath Karad Mit World Peace University, Pune, Maharashtra, on Jan. 16, for 'a system for mapping user mental models.'

Inventor(s) include Milind Sudhakar Pande; Varad Vivek Vishwarupe; Himangi Milind Pande; Vishal Kamalakar Pawar; Navneet Kumar Chaudhary; and Mohammed Imran Khan.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a computer-implemented system (100) for mapping user mental models during an early design phase to support improved user experience and design creativity. The system comprises a low-cost prototype interface (102) that enables user interaction with a design representation, a data acquisition module (104) configured to capture multimodal user interaction data including visual attention data, interaction behavior data, and user feedback data, a cognitive mapping module (106) that processes the captured data to generate a structured representation of a user mental model, an analysis module (108) configured to identify relationships and cognitive patterns associated with design elements, and an output module (110) configured to present the structured representation for design evaluation and refinement. By integrating qualitative and quantitative interaction data, the system enables systematic visualization and analysis of user cognition during early-stage design activities."
