MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511103794 A) filed by Dr. B R Ambedkar National Institute Of Technology, Jalandhar, Punjab, on Oct. 28, 2025, for 'a system for manufacturing of thermoset composites with integrated dual-extrusion and continuous fibre feeding.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Gourav Kumar Sharma; Dr. Narendra Kumar; Mr. Vivek Kumar Gupta; and Dr. Ravi Pratap Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) for manufacturing of thermoset composites is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a sonicator resin bath (102). Further, one or more modified peristaltic pump (108) having a six-roller configuration and dual-layer BPT tubing arranged orthogonally at 60, and one or more diaphragm buffer (116) positioned between the one or more modified peristaltic pump (108) and an extrusion head (126). Further, a fibre cleaning unit (120), a fibre wetting & curing unit, and a belt based fibre feeding mechanism (124). Further, the extrusion head (126) comprising a co-axial extrusion nozzle (128), UV curing assembly (130) with circularly arranged UV LEDs, cooling system (132) and a shear cutting assembly (134). Further, at least one processor (138), and at least one memory (140) configured to coordinate the procedure of resin dispensing, fibre feeding, UV curing, fibre cutting, and gantry motion via a G-code."
