MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421011543 A) filed by G. H. Raisoni College Of Engineering; and G. H. R. Labs And Research Centre, Nagpur, Maharashtra, on Feb. 19, 2024, for 'a system for improving electric vehicle battery life with a super capacitor.'

Inventor(s) include Qureshi, Najiya; Balpande, Chetana; Tembhurne, Himanshu; Khubalkar, Swapnil Waman; Daigavane, Prema; and Naidu, Harikumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention is related to a system for improving electric vehicle battery life with a super capacitor. Utilizing a combination of a battery (101), super capacitor (109), and intelligent control mechanisms, the system dynamically switches between power sources based on their charging statuses. Regenerative braking is harnessed to charge the super capacitor (109) during specific phases, enhancing overall efficiency. The parallel configuration of battery (101) and super capacitor (109) banks effectively manages high-current events, balancing power demand. Motor speed control is optimized through a potentiometer, with real-time monitoring provided via an LCD display. The innovation introduces a practical hardware setup, integrating a relay and relay driver (108) for seamless switching. This system, adaptable to low-current charging circuits, highlights the versatility of super capacitors (109) for uninterrupted power supply (104) during ride-through phases, making it a pioneering solution in the realm of electric vehicle technology."
