MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421004300 A) filed by Higgsfleet Innovations Private Limited, Pune, Maharashtra, on Jan. 22, 2024, for 'a system for enabling a virtual tour guide.'
Inventor(s) include Nandan Ravindra Gite.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a system (100) for enabling an augmented reality-based virtual tour guide application using real-time environment analysis and discovery. The system (100) comprises a memory (102) storing programmed instructions; and a processor (104) coupled to the memory (102). The processor (104) receives a live video stream from a user device's (101) camera depicting the user's physical locale. It processes each video frame to algorithmically extract key information about identity, geospatial coordinates and attributes of landmarks, monuments, display boards and environmental elements visible within the current camera view. By correlating this extracted visual information with entries in a pre-indexed location database, the specific geographic spot imaged by the camera gets determined accurately. Given this location, sites of attraction in the neighborhood are queried from the database and checked for visibility within the camera feed using landmark recognition techniques."
