MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511115509 A) filed by Nims University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 22, 2025, for 'a system for controlled and targeted drug delivery.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Bhumi Chaturvedi; Dr. Hemant Bareth; Dr. Sandli Jain; Dr. Pearl Thakur; Dr. Sandeep Tripathi; Dr. Dushyant Singh Chauhan; and Dr. Sunil Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A time-release polymeric capsule system (100) and method for controlled and targeted drug delivery. The system comprises a core (101) containing an active pharmaceutical ingredient and concentric polymeric layers (102) engineered to provide sequential, multi-stimuli responsive release. Nanostructured materials (106) and surface modifications (107) enhance solubility, stability, and site-specific delivery. The manufacturing method involves micronization of the API, loading into nanocarriers, application of concentric polymeric layers (102), including functional layers, and surface modifications (107) to achieve precise control over release kinetics. The invention offers improved bioavailability, reduced dosing frequency, and versatility across various therapeutic applications."
