MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411075839 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Oct. 7, 2024, for 'a system for cleaning at least one beverageware inside a vehicle, and a method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides a system and method for cleaning beverageware inside a vehicle. The system (100) includes a beverageware holder (102) that is hinged to a vehicle's structural member and can move between open and closed positions. The system (100) includes a sensor assembly (106) configured to detect whether the beverageware (402) is correctly positioned in the holder (102) with its bowl (406) facing the cleaner unit (104). Additionally, the system (100) includes a dispenser unit (108) connected to the cleaner unit (104) for dispensing a cleaning fluid into the beverageware's bowl (406). A controller (110) is configured to control the dispenser unit (108) to supply the cleaning fluid to the cleaner unit (104) when the sensor assembly (106) confirms that the beverageware (402) is correctly oriented, and the holder (102) is in the closed position."
