MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641063434 A) filed by M. Kumarasamy College Of Engineering, Karur, Tamil Nadu, on May 19, for 'a system for autonomous data protection.'

Inventor(s) include Mr. Sivasubramani K; Mrs. Kalaivani K; Vishva Priya L S; Narmadha B; and Varsaa Vihasini S B.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention introduces an intelligent system and method designed to provide autonomous protection of sensitive data through the use of artificial intelligence and adaptive cryptographic techniques. In today's rapidly evolving digital landscape, traditional security mechanisms often fail to respond dynamically to emerging threats. This invention addresses that gap by enabling data to actively participate in its own protection. At the core of the system, sensitive information is encapsulated within secure, self-contained cryptographic units referred to as "data pods." These data pods are not passive storage elements; instead, they are designed to continuously monitor access patterns, user behavior, and contextual parameters such as location, device identity, and time of access. By analyzing these factors in real time, the system can intelligently distinguish between legitimate and potentially malicious activities. When an unauthorized access attempt or suspicious behavior is detected, the system automatically triggers a series of defensive responses without requiring human intervention."
