MUMBAI, India, June 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202321086589 A) filed by Tata Motors Limited, Maharashtra, on Dec. 18, 2023, for 'a system for alerting an occupant for adjusting a seating posture in a vehicle.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (500) for alerting an occupant (116) to adjust their seating posture in a vehicle (10) is disclosed. The system (500) includes an image capturing device (108) for capturing plurality of images of the occupant (116). A control unit (100) communicatively connected to the image capturing device (108), such that the control unit (100), receives the images and determines the occupant's real-time posture, 10 generates predefined posture data sticks based on the plurality of images, calculates plurality of angles from the predefined posture data sticks and delivers a first output, compares the first output with pre-stored data to determine the seating posture to be adjusted, generates a plurality of alert signals indicating the required adjustments."
