MUMBAI, India, Jan. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511103651 A) filed by Manipal University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 28, 2025, for 'a system and method to enhance sustainable financial literacy among individuals.'

Inventor(s) include Ritika Sharma; and Dr. Swati Jain.

The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a system and method to enhance sustainable financial literacy among individuals. The system implemented by the government in collaboration with banks, financial institutions, and public-private sectors, educates individuals about ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) investment opportunities and sustainable financial instruments. The SFLS will work as a boosting approach for individuals to help them make the right selection of a sustainable instrument for investments. These instruments will give extra financial rewards in comparison to traditional ones. Challenges such as the adoption of sustainable financial education, the lack of awareness towards sustainability, and financial decisions towards sustainable development will be addressed through the Sustainable Financial Literacy System, which aims to enhance equitable growth and create an inclusive environment towards ESG investments. Additionally, the financial sectors will help civil society to understand their extra financial outcomes and the benefits of society."
