MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611052511 A) filed by Graphic Era, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on April 24 for 'a system and method for smart car parking management using fog computing and event-driven architecture.'
Inventor(s) include Shrey Singhal; and Dr. Prakash Srivastava.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention provides a smart car parking management system (100) incorporating fog computing and an event-driven architecture to improve parking efficiency. A high-definition camera (102) captures images of parking slots which a microcontroller (104) processes by converting raw RGB images into grayscale and binary images using threshold optimization and noise removal. Upon detecting occupancy changes, the microcontroller (104) generates events transmitted via a local network to one or more fog nodes (106) that perform advanced image segmentation and feature extraction, distributing processing tasks to balance the computational load. A smart LED display (108) receives real-time updates from the fog nodes (106), while a cloud integration module (110) communicates via a proxy server (112) and message broker (114) to securely store and analyze selected event data, thereby enabling asynchronous processing of parking events."
