MUMBAI, India, June 16 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611054912 A) filed by Vinay Jain, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on April 29, for 'a system and method for simultaneous multi-camera video acquisition, configurable spatial stream composition, on-device processing, aes-256 encryption, artificial intelligence based operator monitoring, and encrypted segmented cloud upload in mobile device integrated vehicle and fleet safety systems.'
Inventor(s) include Vinay Jain.
The application for the patent was published on June 5, under issue no. 23/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a system and method for vehicle and fleet safety recording operable entirely through a mobile computing device without requiring dedicated external hardware. The invention simultaneously activates and manages multiple on-device cameras to record concurrent video streams covering distinct spatial zones associated with a vehicle interior and exterior environment. The system autonomously segments recorded streams into fixed or configurable time-interval clips, merges multiple concurrent streams into a single composite video file per interval using a configurable spatial composition layout, applies on-device video compression using standard codecs, appends cryptographically signed metadata comprising geolocation, timestamp and session identifiers, encrypts the resulting payload using AES-256 encryption prior to transmission, and transmits encrypted composite files to remote cloud storage infrastructure. The cloud infrastructure receives and decrypts each segment for indexing and storage, re-encrypting the content at rest, and decrypts footage again only at the point of authorised access for playback. The invention further discloses a configurable video stream composition module that spatially combines concurrent camera streams into a single composite video frame using any one of a plurality of layout configurations including: horizontal split wherein a first stream occupies a left region and a second stream occupies a right region of the composite frame; vertical split wherein a first stream occupies an upper region and a second stream occupies a lower region; and picture-in-picture wherein a primary stream occupies the full composite frame and a secondary stream is overlaid as a scaled inset at a configurable corner position. The composition module supports independent rotation, scaling, mirroring, vertical flipping and crop adjustment of each constituent stream prior to composition, and permits dynamic switching between layout configurations at runtime without interruption of the recording session. In parallel, an artificial intelligence inference module continuously analyses the front-facing camera feed in real time to detect driver physiological states including prolonged eye closure indicative of fatigue, micro-sleep events, facial absence from the camera field of view, and head pose deviation, triggering graduated multimodal alerts comprising audible, visual and haptic signals. The system is applicable across all categories of motorised vehicle including passenger vehicles, commercial freight vehicles, emergency services vehicles, public transport, agricultural machinery, and autonomous or semi-autonomous fleets."
