MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521104402 A) filed by Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Engineering, Pune, Maharashtra, on Oct. 29, for 'a system and method for real time body posture analysis.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Rajesh B Ghongade; Dr. Tanuja S Dhope; and Dr. Pallavi S Deshpande.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a real time body posture analysis system in the technical field of biomechanical monitoring, featuring multiple inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensor modules (100) with an accelerometer (100a), a gyroscope (100b), and an optional magnetometer (100c) mounted on predetermined anatomical segments. A wireless transmission module (102) transmits sensor data to a data processing unit (DPU) (103) implemented on a single board computer platform (109). The sensor fusion module (104) compensates for noise and drift to compute stable orientation angles, and the computation module (105) calculates clinically relevant posture angles such as neck flexion and thoracic kyphosis. The fuzzy inference module (106) converts the said angles into fuzzy classifications which are displayed in real time via a graphical user interface (GUI) (108) with a skeletal representation."
