According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an Internet of Things (IoT) based precision agriculture system for integrated monitoring and adaptive management of soil and irrigation water quality. The system comprises a distributed sensing architecture configured to measure soil parameters including moisture, pH, nutrient content, and temperature, and irrigation water parameters including pH, turbidity, electrical conductivity, and dissolved ionic concentration. Sensor data is acquired through an IoT-enabled embedded controller based on an ESP32 platform and processed using a hybrid edge-cloud analytics framework. The system introduces a Soil-Water Interaction Index (SWII) computed at an edge-intelligent node to evaluate compatibility between soil chemistry and irrigation water composition. Based on the interaction index, crop type, and growth stage information, an adaptive fertigation optimization engine generates real-time recommendations for irrigation scheduling, fertilizer composition, and nutrient dosage. The invention enables integrated soil-water compatibility assessment, improves fertilizer efficiency, reduces nutrient losses, and supports scalable and sustainable precision agriculture."
