Inventor(s) include Dr. P Karthikeyan; Mr. Saravanan Subramani; Dr. Vivek Kumar; Dr. Rahul Dnyaneshwar Ghongade; Dr. Gopalkrishna Dnyaneshwar Dalvi; Dr. A. Kavitha; and Chithrakkannan R.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses a system and method for power-efficient sleep mode management in embedded Internet of Things (IoT) devices. The system comprises an adaptive sleep controller, a machine learning prediction engine, and a communication interface to dynamically manage device transitions between active, light sleep, and deep sleep states. The invention introduces a hybrid wake-up mechanism that combines interrupt-driven and predictive scheduling strategies, ensuring immediate responsiveness to critical events while reducing redundant wake-ups. A feedback optimization loop continuously refines prediction accuracy, enabling long-term adaptability across diverse operating environments. The proposed solution achieves significant reductions in power consumption, extends battery life, and is applicable to healthcare monitoring, smart agriculture, industrial IoT, and smart home automation systems."
