MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511116725 A) filed by Graphic Era, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Nov. 25, 2025, for 'a system and method for pavement-integrated acoustic crash detection and emergency response.'
Inventor(s) include Khushboo Uniyal; and Amit Srivastava.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a pavement-integrated system for acoustic crash detection and emergency response in transportation infrastructure. An array of acoustic sensor modules (A) embedded in pre-formed channels within the pavement captures crash-specific sounds via high-sensitivity microphones, piezoresistive, piezoelectric, or fiber optic sensors. Signals are conditioned and processed by unit (B) featuring amplifiers, filters, and analog-to-digital converters, with machine learning algorithms discerning impact, skidding, and glass shattering events. Processed data are transmitted via communication module (C) using GSM, LTE, or IoT protocols, while power supply and energy management unit (D), optionally augmented by renewable energy sources, sustains operation. A protective enclosure (E) ensures environmental resilience, rendering the system robust and reliable for timely emergency interventions."
