MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511114409 A) filed by Graphic Era, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Nov. 20, 2025, for 'a system and method for microbial-mediated modulation of plant physiology and stress adaptation for sustainable productivity.'
Inventor(s) include Deblina Roy; Varsha Kundu; Suchandra Neogi; Debasis Mitra; and Rahul Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system and method for enhancing plant physiological functions in agricultural biotechnology is disclosed. The invention comprises a microbial inoculum formulation component (10) incorporating beneficial microbes, a delivery and application module (20) adaptable as a seed coating, soil-drenching, or foliar spray apparatus, and a microbial-plant interaction enhancement unit (30) that produces signaling molecules for activating the plant response activation module (40) to modulate parameters such as stomatal conductance, chlorophyll biosynthesis, and root architecture. A support and nutrient enrichment matrix (50) further facilitates microbial colonization while releasing additional nutrients. The disclosed method includes culturing these beneficial microbes under controlled conditions and applying the formulation to plant environments, thereby establishing a sustainable microbial symbiosis that improves plant stress adaptation and productivity."
