MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641008221 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 28, for 'a system and method for medical image processing and diagnostic interpretation.'

Inventor(s) include Premkumar U; Sasidharan S; Dinesh Kumar R; and Sindhu S.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A System and Method for Medical Image Processing and Diagnostic Interpretation The present disclosure relates to a system and method for medical image processing and diagnostic interpretation that offer context-adaptive, evidence-traceable diagnostic analysis. The system gets medical images and acquisition metadata from one or more imaging modalities and does standard pre-processing to make sure that the quality of the images is the same. A contextual diagnostic orchestration engine looks at patient-specific contextual data and imaging parameters to set up diagnostic workflows in real time. A multi-layer image interpretation stack processes the medical images to find anatomical, pathological, and temporal features in a controlled way. Diagnostic outputs are adjusted to account for differences in demographics and acquisition, and they come with verifiable evidence parameters that connect diagnostic conclusions to specific image features. The system also checks the diagnostic confidence, gives feedback for image acquisition when needed, and securely stores diagnostic parameters and outputs so that they can be checked. The current disclosure provides a technically integrated, dependable, and verifiable solution for the interpretation of medical images for diagnostic purposes, overcoming the shortcomings of traditional static and non-traceable diagnostic systems."
