MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133437 A) filed by Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'a system and method for gaze-aligned context-aware augmented reality caption band rendering in classroom environments.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. M. Thangamani; V. Govarthan; and B. Dinesh.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system and metfiod are disclosed for gaze-aligned context-aware augmented' reality'caption band rendering in classroom environments. The system comprises an eye-tracking module configured to generate real-time gaze infom1ation, an environmental context sensing module configured to capture classroom scene data including educator and background regions, and a caption processing module configured to convert classroom audio into timestamped"caption text. A fusion processor generates a world model identifying candidate regions for caption placement using the gaze infonnation and scene data. A rendering engine computes the position and appearance of a caption band based on the world model and the caption text, such that the caption band is maintained within a predefined angular range relative to the usej's g1ze direction while avoiding regiqns and important classroom content. An augmented reality display presents the caption band in the field of view of the user through a bounded-latency processing pipeline, thereby maintaining caption readability during dynamic classroom viewing conditions."
