MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511117573 A) filed by M/S Teksurvy Private Limited, New Delhi, on Nov. 26, 2025, for 'a system and method for fibre-optic barbed-wire perimeter security with integrated video surveillance.'

Inventor(s) include Ashok Kumar Sharma; and Anudita Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to an integrated multimodal security and surveillance system utilizing a fibre-optic cable shaped like barbed wire, equipped with an optical transmitter, optical receiver, and analogue CCTV camera for real-time intrusion detection and verification. The system functions both as a physical barrier and a distributed optical sensor, wherein the optical transmitter sends modulated light signals through the fibre-optic barbed wire, and the receiver monitors variations caused by disturbances such as cutting, twisting, or bending. Detected signal fluctuations are analyzed by a signal-processing and alarm control unit that classifies events based on severity, triggering appropriate alerts and activating the CCTV camera for visual confirmation. The CCTV camera's RF output is modulated onto the optical signal for simultaneous video transmission and intrusion detection through a single fibre channel. It ensures rapid, accurate, and interference-resistant detection with automated alarm escalation, secure data storage, and remote monitoring capability."
