MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421028838 A) filed by Pdpm Iiitdm Jabalpur; and Csir, New Delhi, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on April 9, 2024, for 'a system and method for fabricating a planar solar cell using inpbi alloy.'
Inventor(s) include Neelesh Jain; Sadhna Singh; Dr Indranil Mal; and Dr Dip Prakash Samajdar.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The system comprises a pre-processor configured to manage and process: a) a linearized augmented plane wave (LAPW) unit that collaboratively operates with a local orbitals (LO) unit for establishment of a basis set, and b) an exchange-correlation engine integrating a Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof (PBE) functional and synchronized to work with a Tran-Blaha modified Becke-Johnson (TB-mBJ) potential manager ensuring calculations' consistency under a Density Functional Theory (DFT) unit; a memory storage housing: a) a database for binary and ternary alloy properties derived from a TB-mBJ potential, and b) a lattice initialization unit to initialize a set of space group parameters for a structure optimization; a supercell generator component crafted to derive a 64-atom representation based on a conventional zinc blende cellular configuration for probing varied alloy compositions; and an optimization interface utilizing dual energy and charge datasets to determine and execute structure optimization and mBJ techniques for optoelectronic property computations."
