MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641001702 A) filed by Dr. M. G. R. Educational & Research Institute, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Jan. 7, for 'a system and method for dynamic lane clearance guidance for emergency vehicles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a dynamic lane clearance guidance system (100) for facilitating unobstructed passage of an approaching emergency vehicle through traffic-congested road environments. The system comprises an emergency vehicle unit (102) configured to operate in an emergency mode, an activation and location interface (104) for initiating the emergency mode and transmitting real-time location data, and a central control unit (106) communicatively coupled thereto. The central control unit (106) processes the real-time location data to determine one or more upcoming road segments or traffic junctions along a travel path of the emergency vehicle and generates lane-specific clearance guidance instructions corresponding thereto. One or more roadside lane guidance display units (110), operatively connected to the central control unit (106) via a communication network (108), are configured to visually display the lane-specific clearance guidance instructions to road users in advance of arrival of the emergency vehicle."
