MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641061988 A) filed by Insigteye AI Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, Telangana, on May 15, for 'a system and method for detecting anomalous ballot activation events.'
Inventor(s) include Sai Akhil Reddy Konakalla; Ganji Praharshith; and Vivek Kumar Tapadia.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A System And Method For Detecting Anomalous Ballot Activation Events The present disclosure provides a system (100) and method for non-intrusive monitoring of electronic voting procedures. The system (100) detects anomalous repeated ballot activation events within a single voter session. A voter session detection subsystem (110) uses a camera (112) to define a temporal voter session window. Within this window, an audio-based detection subsystem (120) counts audible confirmation beeps, and a separate visual-based detection subsystem (130) counts state transitions of a Control Unit indicator light. A multi-modal fusion and violation engine (140) correlates the counts with the session window. The engine (140) generates an anomaly alert if the number of detected activation events exceeds a predetermined threshold, thereby providing a technical advancement over existing knowledge by enhancing the integrity of the voting process without modifying or electrically interfacing with the certified voting equipment. The principal use is in real-time procedural auditing for elections."
