MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133790 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'a system and method for context-aware mental health insight generation in multi-user environments.'

Inventor(s) include Asil Zain T A; Raafid Afraaz G; Mohammed Izhan I; and Dr. Mareeswari V.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a system (100) and method for generating context-aware mental-health insights in multi-user environments, wherein emotional indicators derived from digital artifacts including chat messages (300), journal entries (310), and mood-rating inputs (320) are processed to compute household-level emotional trajectories and risk conditions. The system (100) includes a sentiment-analysis engine within a service and event flow (500) configured to extract sentiment features, and a household-insight computation module visualised via an insight dashboard (700) to derive aggregated emotional trends. An intervention engine, implemented through an alert summary interface (800) and escalation pathway (810), evaluates dynamic trend-aware rules to generate tiered intervention outputs with role-scoped explainability. A privacy-preserving repository architecture (600) enforces selective visibility and least-privilege access for sensitive artifacts. A pluggable NLP connector (900) enables analytical model interchangeability. The invention provides real-time context-aware insight generation supporting coordinated mental-health decision-making within shared environments."
