MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133373 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'a system and method for automated medical image processing and anomaly detection.'

Inventor(s) include Prem Kumar U; Logeswari J; Aishwarya; and Praveen Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A System and Method for Automated Medical Image Processing and Anomaly Detection The present disclosure is concerned with a system and a method for automated medical image analysis and anomaly detection. The system consists of an imaging acquisition and pre-processing module that is used to acquire medical images using standardized processes. It contains a multi-modal fusion engine that collects and integrates imaging and clinical data together with a federated learning and model aggregation module that is designed to do privacy-preserving federated models training using homomorphic encryption in a distributed manner. The system also has an adaptive explainability engine that produces interpretable visual and textual outputs through a dual-attention network and provides a context-aware diagnostic reasoning module that correlates detected anomalies with historical patient data using a knowledge-graph inference engine. The method facilitates secure, explainable, and context appropriate anomaly detection in several different healthcare nodes without the need to share raw patient data. The invention contributes to improved diagnostic accuracy, interpretability, and data privacy and is an important technical enhancement over traditional centralised image-analysis systems."
