MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641050600 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on April 21, for 'a system and method for automated medical image analysis and disease classification using deep learning.'

Inventor(s) include Premkumar U; Sasidharan S; Ram Shankar; Dinesh Kumar R; Sindhu S; Dhanalakshmi S; Asha Rani G; Anitha J; Leka H; and Jerose Rani D.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A System and Method for Automated Medical Image Analysis and Disease Classification Using Deep Learning The current disclosure pertains to a system and method for executing automated medical image analysis and disease classification through edge-assisted physiologically-constrained deep learning, incorporating self-validating diagnostic feedback mechanisms. The system has interfaces for acquiring images in different modes, an edge pre-processing module that reduces noise, corrects motion, and normalizes features to create device-invariant representations, and a hybrid deep learning inference module that extracts features and produces disease classification outputs with confidence metrics. A physiological constraint modeling engine checks outputs against set anatomical and biological rules to get rid of predictions that don't make sense. A self-validating diagnostic feedback module uses historical and contextual data to double-check results and create validation scores and alerts. A module for adaptive model recalibration changes model parameters using verified outputs through a secure learning process. The system produces explainable diagnostic outputs and organized reports, which makes it possible to accurately, reliably, and consistently improve medical image-based disease classification in a variety of imaging settings."
