MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631008071 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology, Ranchi, Jharkhand, on Jan. 27, for 'a system and method for analyzing neuroimaging data.'
Inventor(s) include Tiwari, Abhishek.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a system (100) for analyzing neuroimaging data to provide objective biomarkers for Major Depressive Disorder. The system (100) comprises a Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI) scanner interface (101) configured to receive raw diffusion signals, a preprocessing unit (102) implemented on a Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) for cleaning, transforming, and padding the diffusion data into a standardized input vector, and an accelerator unit (103) electrically connected to the preprocessing unit (102) and comprising an architecture with convolutional and attention mechanisms for feature extraction. Metadata fusion logic (108) enables integration of clinical data with neuroimaging features. An output interface module (104) controlled by an embedded microcontroller (109) displays diagnostic insights, trends, and visualizations. The integrated hardware-optimized multi-stage pipeline operates in real time and is housed within a portable, low-power enclosure (110) to generate biomarkers including Fractional Anisotropy, Axial Diffusivity, and Mean Diffusivity."
