MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113489 A) filed by UPES, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'a system and method for ai-iot digital twin-enabled vermicomposting and crop-specific organic manure formulation.'
Inventor(s) include Dr Neelu Jyothi Ahuja; Mr Abhirup Khanna; and Ms Anushree Sah.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an integrated system leveraging AI and IoT for advanced vermicomposting and organic manure formulation. The system utilizes a hybrid physics-guided neural network (PGNN) module to simulate microbial activity, temperature evolution, and gas emissions, alongside a digital twin simulation engine that processes real-time sensor data. A reinforcement learning-based adaptive control (RL-AC) module, operating with conventional PID control loops, dynamically adjusts process parameters such as aeration, moisture, and feedstock blending. Complementary features include a graph neural network (GNN) module for crop-specific nutrient mapping, a sensor calibration and data fusion module for optimized data confidence, and a blockchain-based traceability module ensuring immutable process recording. A user interface module offers real-time insights, collectively forming a robust solution for efficient, precision-controlled vermicomposting in sustainable agriculture."
