MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133532 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education And Research, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'a system and method for ai-based surgical assistance and precision operation control.'

Inventor(s) include Aravind. P; Jeyaseelan R; Ganesan M; and Anitha J.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A System and Method for AI-Based Surgical Assistance and Precision Operation Control The present invention concerns a system and method for AI-assisted surgery and precision operation control through multimodal sensing, predictive artificial intelligence, and neuro-adaptive feedback, achieving surgical precision in real time. The Surgical Context Acquisition Module acquires optical, tactile, acoustic, and bio-impedance data, which is then entered into an AI-Based Predictive Fusion Engine that generates a Dynamic Surgical Map indicative of tissue deformation and perfusion. A Precision Motion Control Unit provides adaptive micro-movements in surgical actions, and a Neuro-Cognitive Surgeon Interface alters control sensitivity based on recognized surgeon physiological states. A Hemo-Tissue Predictive Response Module assists in defining vascular and thermal safety corridors, while an AI-Explainability Layer ensures clinicians are aware of the basis of decisions made by an AI system, including recommendations. All actions are logged and remain securely stored within a Blockchain-Secured Surgical Ledger for rountine retrieval. The invention provides sub-millimeter accuracy, predictive safety, and interpretable, AI-enabled assistance, and is a significant technical advancement over traditional robotic and image-guided surgical systems."
