MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641041638 A) filed by Rvs College Of Engineering And Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on April 1, for 'a system and method for ai-based behaviour monitoring in classroom and exam hall.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. K. Karuppasamy; S. S. Jaya; K. Brindha; Revathi Priya Arumugam; V. Raja Balaji; R. Kumara Baskar; D. Veerashri; and S. Mohan Raj.

The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system and method for monitoring student behavior in classrooms and examination halls using artificial intelligence is disclosed. The system includes a video acquisition module configured to capture real-time video streams and a preprocessing module that processes captured frames for analysis. A behavior analysis module applies machine learning algorithms to detect student movements and behavioral patterns from video data. An anomaly detection module identifies suspicious activities such as unauthorized device usage, excessive interaction between students, or abnormal movement patterns that may indicate examination malpractice. Detected events are transmitted to an alert management module that notifies supervisors through monitoring dashboards. The system further supports event recording and data storage for review and disciplinary purposes. By integrating computer vision with artificial intelligence, the invention enables automated monitoring of educational environments, improving examination integrity, classroom discipline, and overall supervision efficiency within academic institutions."
