MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133788 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'a system and method for adaptive model configuration in medical diagnostic processing.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. J Jayashree; Shambhavi Paygude; Ansh Mehta; and Aastik Narang.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to a system (100) and method for adaptive model configuration in medical diagnostic processing. The system includes a diagnostic deep-learning model, a severity estimation module configured to determine a severity value from inference features, and a plurality of model configurations comprising a compressed configuration and a higher-capacity configuration. An adaptive configuration controller selects one of the model configurations based on the severity value and dynamically switches between configurations during inference without retraining model parameters. Baseline diagnostic behaviour is illustrated through reference performance charts including confusion matrices and confidence distributions. The invention enables case-specific adjustment of computational capacity in medical image analysis, allowing efficient processing for low-severity cases and enhanced diagnostic robustness for higher-severity cases."
