MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441006641 A) filed by Bosch Global Software Technologies Private Limited; and Robert Bosch Gmbh, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'a system and a method to limit a speed of a vehicle.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system and a method to limit the speed of the vehicle Abstract Disclosed are techniques to A helmet (1) to limit a speed of a vehicle, said helmet (1) worn by the driver of the vehicle. A helmet (1) comprises at least one sensor (2) to detect a heart rate of the driver, said at least one sensor (2) in communication with a controller. Said controller (3) is adapted to transmit a signal to an electric control unit (ECU (4) ) of the vehicle based on the heart rate of the driver, and said ECU (4) is adapted to regulate the speed of the vehicle based on the signal received from the said controller. The at least one sensor (2) detects the heart rate of the driver based on a change in a volume of blood flow at a region on a head of the driver. The controller (3) transmits a signal to the ECU (4) when the heart rate of the driver as detected by the at least one sensor (2) is within a threshold heart rate range. The at least one sensor (2) is placed at any of a region on the forehead and a region near the earlobe of the driver."
