MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421028301 A) filed by Hyundai Mobis Co. Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on April 5, 2024, for 'a system and a method for protecting a brake assembly of a vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Vinay Datta Reddy Suram.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and a method (200) for protecting a brake assembly of a vehicle, configured to enhance the performance and durability of braking components. The system includes a switch (102), a motor (104), a reservoir (106), a pump (108), sprinklers (110), and an image-capturing unit (112). When the switch (102) is activated, the motor (104) draws water from the reservoir (106) and delivers it to the pump (108), which pressurizes the water. The pressurized water is sprayed onto the brake pad (14) and brake disc (16) via sprinklers (110), effectively removing accumulated particles such as sand, mud, or debris. The image-capturing unit (112) allows real-time monitoring of the brake components. This system prevents scratches, reduces noise, ensures consistent braking, and extends the lifespan of the brake assembly."
