MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202421031005 A) filed by Hyundai Mobis Co. Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on April 18, 2024, for 'a system and a method for monitoring brake conditions in a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Sowntharya Mariyappan.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 24, under issue no. 43/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a system (100) and method (200) for proactive brake monitoring in vehicles, designed to enhance safety and prevent accidents due to brake failures. The system comprises a brake sensing unit (10) to monitor parameters such as wheel speed, brake pressure, and fluid levels; a proximity sensing unit (12) to detect free space around the vehicle; and a control module (14) integrated with an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) module (14a) for real-time brake assessments. A display unit (16) provides visual alerts for the brake system's status, while a vehicle cloud server (18) logs diagnostic data for maintenance and future reference. Upon ignition start, the system executes a bootloader technique to evaluate brake functionality by applying controlled acceleration and braking tests. If anomalies are detected, the system prevents vehicle motion and generates alerts, ensuring proactive brake monitoring and enhanced vehicle safety."
