MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621005576 A) filed by Dr. Cyril Sajan; Ms. Jani Diya Paras; Ms. Kruti Ashishbhai Vyas; Ms. Mahek Pareshkumar Darji; Ms. Diksha Dinesh Birwadkar; Dr. Rajesh Hadia; Dr. Hemraj Singh Rajput; and Dr. Varun Singh Saggu, Vadodara, Gujarat, on Jan. 20, for 'a synergistic herbal composition comprising st. john's wort and bacopa monnieri.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a synergistic herbal antidepressant composition comprising standardized extracts of Hypericum perforatum and Bacopa monnieri. The combination exhibits enhanced antidepressant efficacy through simultaneous modulation of monoaminergic neurotransmission, neuroplasticity, and oxidative stress. Preclinical studies demonstrate synergistic activity with reduced effective doses and improved safety compared to conventional antidepressants, making the composition suitable for the treatment of depression and related mood disorders."
