MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441075078 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Oct. 4, 2024, for 'a steering assist assembly of a vehicle and a method therof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a steering assist assembly (100) of a vehicle is disclosed. The assembly (100) includes a steering knuckle (21) operatively associated with a steering axle of the vehicle and being operable by a steering rack (30) associated with the steering axle to displace the steering knuckle (21) to pivot a wheel hub (20). Further, the assembly includes an actuating unit (60) operatively disposed between the steering knuckle (21) and a frame portion (10) of the vehicle. The actuating unit (60) being configured to assist the steering rack (30) to displace the steering knuckle (21) to pivot the wheel hub (20). Furthermore, the assembly includes a controller (50) being communicatively coupled to the actuating unit (60) and configured to trigger the actuating unit (60) to assist the steering rack (30) in pivoting the wheel hub (20) based on pre-defined steering parameters of the vehicle."
