MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521114762 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 20, 2025, for 'a speech therapy system for rehabilitation of toddlers.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention discloses an Internet of Things (IoT) based speech therapy system for rehabilitation of toddlers affected by cleft lip and palate. The system comprises a speech therapy toy (100) having a plurality of embedded sensors including a sound sensor (102), motion sensor (104), and pressure sensor (106), the toy being ergonomically designed using medical-grade, hypoallergenic, and chewable material to enable safe oral motor interaction. A controller module (108) is operatively connected to the sensors and generates sensory outputs (110) such as vibration, light, and sound in response to detected interaction. The toy further includes a wireless communication interface (114) configured to transmit data to a companion mobile application (130). The mobile application (130) analyzes speech and oral motor activity data and provides adaptive feedback and progress reports, thereby creating an interactive, multisensory, and adaptive speech therapy environment."
