MUMBAI, India, April 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073389 A) filed by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., New Delhi, on Sept. 27, 2024, for 'a spare tire support structure of a vehicle.'

Inventor(s) include Kumar Gaurav; K. Arun Kumar; Pushkal V.; Sai Krishna Annabattula; and Yogesh Pathak.

The application for the patent was published on April 10, under issue no. 15/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Present disclosure relates to a spare tire support structure (S) of a vehicle. The spare tire support structure (S) includes a cross member (10), a support member (20), and a 5 reinforcement member (30). The cross member (10) may be positioned underneath a rear portion (R) of a floor (F) of the vehicle and coupled to a back panel (BP) of the vehicle. The support member (20) may be positioned adjacent to the back panel (BP) and coupled to the floor (F) and the cross member (10). The reinforcement member (30) may be disposed between the floor (F) and at least one of the cross members (10) and the support member (20). The configuration of the reinforcement member (30) ensures high rigidity among other components of the spare tire support structure (S)."
