Inventor(s) include Somaditya Biswas; Rajani Sajjan; Omkar Mutal; Ajinkya Garad; Nishant Kadakol; and Heet Shah.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a solar-powered modular cold storage system for agricultural produce. The system comprises an energy storage unit (101) connected to a solar power generation unit (102), a local control unit (103), a refrigeration unit (104), environmental sensors (105), a modular cold storage enclosure (106), a cloud-based remote data processing unit (107), and a user interface / alert module (108). The enclosure (106) includes an outer shell (201), insulation layer (202), inner chamber (203), produce storage space (204), access door (205), refrigeration air inlet (206), refrigeration air outlet (207), and internal circulation fan (208). Sensors monitor temperature, humidity, gas concentration, and ambient light within chamber. Data is transmitted to unit (107) for analysis, generating control signals to unit (103), which activates unit (104) and fan (208). The system enables AI-powered monitoring, spoilage prediction, and automated control, ensuring preservation of crops in off-grid rural areas."
