Inventor(s) include Dr. Neepa Biswas; Dr. Suchismita Maiti; Suman Kumar Bhattacharyya; Kamalika Banerjee; Arpita Chakraborty; Ashutosh Singh; Smriti Debnath; and Rick Mandal.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Tourism in India contributes significantly to the economy and global perception of the country. Despite the rich cultural heritage and vast diversity, tourists often encounter challenges such as poor infrastructure, lack of amenities, safety concerns, and inadequate cleanliness. Addressing such issues efficiently is key to improving the overall tourist experience. To tackle this, we propose Yatri Sahayak, an Android-based mobile application that allows tourists to report real-time issues encountered at tourist spots. These reports, categorized under specific domains (cleanliness, safety, infrastructure, etc.), are geo-tagged and submitted directly to the respective government authorities. An integrated feedback mechanism ensures transparency and accountability. The app aims to bridge the communication gap between tourists and administration, enhancing responsiveness, efficiency, and trust in public services."
