MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541134132 A) filed by Nitte, Mangaluru, Karnataka, on Dec. 31, 2025, for 'a smart orthotic wear-compliance tracking system for clubfoot therapy in infants.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed herein is a clubfoot-orthotic brace compliance monitoring system (100). A clubfoot-orthotic brace (102) worn on an infant's foot and leg, the clubfoot-orthotic brace (102) configured to physically support alignment during the treatment, wherein the clubfoot-orthotic brace (102), a compact casing (104) integrated into the clubfoot-orthotic brace (102) and formed of polylactic acid material to house internal electronics and ensure safe infant-skin contact, a capacitive wear-detection sensor (106) embedded within the compact casing (104) and positioned to detect physical contact between the clubfoot-orthotic brace (102) and the infant's skin and thereby determine brace-wear events, a microcontroller unit (108) arranged inside the compact casing (104) and electrically interfaced with the capacitive wear-detection sensor (106), the microcontroller unit (108) configured to measure and process wear-time, wherein the microcontroller unit (108) comprises, a data-input module (110) configured to receive raw contact-detection signals from the capacitive wear-detection sensor (106)."
