MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541090647 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on Sept. 23, 2025, for 'a smart iot system for human emotion detection using eeg and hybrid deep learning networks.'
Inventor(s) include Ch. Krishnaveni; Dr. Ch. Rajendra Prasad; and Dr. L. M. I. Leo Joseph.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A smart Internet-of-Things system and method for human emotion detection using non-invasive electroencephalography (EEG) signals and hybrid deep learning networks is disclosed. Wearable EEG end devices transmit brain signals to gateway devices that perform pre-processing and fast Fourier transform to convert the signals into the frequency domain. Features are analysed by a hybrid deep learning model integrating convolutional and recurrent neural networks to capture both spatial and temporal characteristics of the EEG data. Processing is distributed across gateway devices, fog worker nodes, and a cloud data-centre node coordinated by software modules for data aggregation, resource allocation, and security. The system provides real-time, multi-class emotion classification with improved accuracy and low latency, enabling applications in mental health monitoring, adaptive interfaces, and human-computer interaction. By combining IoT sensing, fog/cloud computing, and advanced deep learning, the invention delivers a scalable and reliable platform for continuous emotion recognition."
