MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611025798 A) filed by Swami Vivekanand Subharti University; Dr. Shalya Raj; and Dr. Nisha Rana, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 5, for 'a smart intraoral imaging mirror system and method for real-time ai-based dental diagnostic analysis.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shalya Raj; and Dr. Nisha Rana.
The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to dental diagnostic devices and more particularly to a smart intraoral imaging mirror integrated with artificial intelligence (AI)-based real-time automated analysis. The system comprises a mirror head incorporating a high-resolution imaging module, a multispectral illumination assembly, and one or more biosensors configured to capture intraoral images and tissue-related parameters including fluorescence response, thermal variation, and spectrophotometric characteristics. A processor executing a trained machine learning model performs multimodal data fusion to detect, classify, and differentiate between normal anatomical presentation and pathological conditions such as early enamel demineralization, dental caries, periodontal inflammation, and mucosal abnormalities. The system generates real-time diagnostic overlays and severity-based risk scores on a live intraoral feed during routine examination without disrupting clinical workflow."
