Abstract: ABSTRACT "A SIMPLE AND EFFICIENT PROCESS FOR FRACTIONATION OF PECTIN FROM SOLID AGRO-INDUSTRIAL WASTE" The present invention disclosed herein a simple and efficient method for fraction of pectin from 5 agro-industrial waste using an inexpensive, robust and recyclable acid catalyst. Integration of scalable downstream unit operations such as chromatographic purification, membrane separation, and spray drying provides ease of catalyst recyclability, separation and concentration of pectin without organic solvent. The said process provides 50% pectin yield using recyclable catalyst and avoiding organic solvent for pectin precipitation which 10 contributes to significant reduction in operational costs and environmental impact compared to traditional methods. The disclosed method not only enhances the techno-economic feasibility of pectin fractionation but also contributes to establish sustainability through agro-industrial waste valorization. The obtained pectin has diverse applications in food, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors.
