Abstract: ABSTRACT "A SIMPLE, GREEN AND EFFICIENT METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF INDUSTRIALLY IMPORTANT ESTERS" The advancement of green and eco-friendly catalytic processes is a key to the 5 establishment of sustainable chemical manufacturing. The present invention discloses herein a simple, green, and efficient process for the production of industrially important esters using heterogeneous solid acid catalyst DICAT. The use of recyclable and robust catalyst DICAT provides a high-throughput process with more than 90% yield of ester under non-stringent operating conditions. Ease of handling and multiple-time 10 recyclability of DICAT provide a strong platform to establish an industrially scalable green process. A wide range of aliphatic and/or aromatic carboxylic acids with aliphatic and/or aromatic alcohols were esterified using DICAT, which promotes a wider scope of integration of DICAT as a green and efficient catalyst.
