MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511116651 A) filed by Baba Farid College Of Engineering And Technology; and Baba Farid College, Bathinda, Punjab, on Nov. 25, 2025, for 'a self-aligning modular attachment system for coupling agricultural implements to tractors and a method thereof.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Manpreet Singh; Dr. Manish Kumar Singla; Dr. Amandeep Kaur; Mrs. Supriya Sethi; Er. Chand Parkash; Er. Amandeep Singh; and Er. Sukhwant Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure relates to a modular attachment system (100) for tool-free and self-aligning coupling of agricultural implements to a tractor. The system (100) includes a main frame (102) provided with a pair of guide brackets (104) configured to compensate for horizontal, vertical, and angular misalignment during docking. A implement-side adapter plate (106) is retrofittable to diverse implements and cooperates with magnetic alignment bars (108) disposed on both the main frame (102) and the implement side adapter plate (106) to generate a controlled attractive force for final planar alignment. A locking cam mechanism (110) automatically engages a corresponding locking notch on the implement side adapter plate (106), while a quick1 release lever (112) enables tool-free detachment. A method (300) for implement coupling is also provided, comprising steps of magnetic pre-alignment, geometric centering through guide brackets, automatic cam locking, and lever-actuated release. The system operates without hydraulic or electrical assistance, enabling safe and rapid implement changes."
